Ability to Send Outgoing Email if Incoming Email Service Fails
Our corporate policy states that even service account emails need a password expiration. Therefore the email account that we are accessing could fail on the login. We would like to be able to send an email on error ... but of course that account would be useless. Is it possible to send the error email to a different SMTP account?
Note also that the main account is Microsoft Exchange server and GearMage MailAccountDownloader application does not allow setting up an Outgoing Mail Server for Exchange accounts.
Please advise of provide a fix. Thanks.

GearMage support responded with two solutions:
1) Mail Attachment Downloader can support outgoing email on external accounts, it just doesn't need to be configured in the tool.
You will have the option pop up in the Send mail action in the dropdown.
Yes, you can send an email using another email account. That would work.
2) An alternative solution you may want to explore - the passwords are simply stored in the Windows Credential Manager.
Another option that you could pursue is having an external process to auto-update the password for the Mail Attachment Downloader key in the Windows Credential Manager.
Then the program will automatically pick it up (btw, there may be two entries one for the program/service you may need to update both).
